Card Types and Issuance
Which virtual credit card types does Issuing VCC support?
Issuing VCC supports two types of virtual credit cards:
- Regular card: Each card has its own balance and must be funded individually before use. This card type is suitable for managing budgets at the individual card level.
- Shared card: Multiple cards share funds from the Issuing Account and do not require individual funding. Transactions are deducted directly from the Issuing Account, making shared cards suitable for managing multiple accounts, teams, or cards at scale.
Both card types can be used for advertising, SaaS subscriptions, AI tools, cross-border e-commerce, and corporate purchasing.
Which currency does Issuing VCC support?
Virtual credit cards currently settle in USD.
How long is a virtual credit card valid?
Virtual credit cards are valid for 3 years.
How many virtual credit cards can be issued at one time?
Up to 10 virtual credit cards can be issued in a single batch.
Is manual review required to issue a card?
No. After the required account setup is complete, merchants can submit a card issuance request online, and the card is created in real time.
Is funding required when issuing a card?
Funding requirements depend on the card type:
- Regular card: Funding is required when the card is issued. The minimum funding amount is 100 USD per card.
- Shared card: Individual card funding is not required. Transactions are deducted directly from the Issuing Account.
How is the first 100 free cards quota calculated?
Each merchant can issue the first 100 virtual credit cards without an issuance fee. Regular cards and shared cards count toward the same 100-card quota.
Once used, the free card quota is not restored. Freezing or canceling a card does not return the card to the available free quota.
Is there an issuance fee after the first 100 cards?
Yes. After the first 100 free cards have been issued, additional cards are subject to the issuance fee displayed in Subotiz Accounts.
Funding and Balance Management
How are regular cards funded?
Each regular card has its own balance and must be funded individually. The minimum amount for a single funding transaction is 100 USD, and funds are credited in real time.
Do shared cards require individual funding?
No. Shared cards use funds from the Issuing Account, and transactions are deducted directly from the account balance.
Is there a minimum amount for funding the Issuing Account?
Yes. The minimum amount for a single funding transaction is 100 USD.
Does the Issuing Account support automatic funding?
Yes. When Auto fund in is enabled, the system automatically transfers funds from the primary account when the Issuing Account balance falls below the configured threshold.
The default minimum transfer amount is 100 USD, with a maximum of 3 automatic transfers per hour.
Is there a funding fee?
The funding fee is currently 0. If the fee structure changes, refer to the fee information displayed in Subotiz Accounts and the latest fee documentation.
Can funds be returned from a regular card?

A 0.3% fee applies to returned funds. The amount credited to the primary account equals the returned amount minus the applicable fee.
How are funds transferred out of the Issuing Account?
Shared cards use the Issuing Account balance. To return all or part of the Issuing Account balance to the primary account, use Transfer out.
A 0.3% fee applies to the transferred amount.
Spending and Fees
Is there a fee for virtual credit card transactions?
Transaction fees are based on the amount of each transaction:

< 50 USD | 0.30 USD per transaction |
For transactions below 50 USD, the fee is deducted directly from the card balance.
Are there additional fees for authorization or settlement?
No. The current version does not charge additional fees for transaction authorization or settlement.
Are fees charged for failed transactions?
Review the related Authorization transaction, Settlement transaction, and Fund records to confirm how funds and fees were processed. The final fee and fund movement details are reflected in the corresponding transaction and fund records.
Card Management
Which operations are available for virtual credit cards?
Available operations depend on the card type and current card status. Supported operations include funding, spending, freezing, unfreezing, returning funds, and canceling cards.
Can a frozen card still be used for transactions?
No. When a card is frozen, it cannot be funded or used for new transactions, and new authorization requests will fail.
A frozen card can still receive refunds from previously initiated transactions and can be unfrozen for continued use.
Can a frozen card be restored?
Yes. Unfreezing the card restores it to normal use.
Can a canceled card be restored?
No. Canceling a card is permanent. Once a card is canceled, it cannot be restored or used for additional card operations.
Does a regular card balance need to be cleared before canceling the card?
Yes. A regular card must have a zero balance before it can be canceled. If funds remain on the card, return the balance to the primary account before canceling it.
What happens to funds when a shared card is canceled?
Shared cards do not hold individual balances. Canceling a shared card does not affect funds held in the Issuing Account.
To return funds from the Issuing Account to the primary account, use Transfer out.
