Editing the fixed term allows merchants to set or update the fixed term for a subscription, with the option to convert it to an ongoing subscription when the fixed term expires. This feature is suitable for subscriptions that require a predefined service period, such as courses, memberships, service packages, and limited-term subscription plans.
Editing the Fixed Term
- Open the subscriptions page: Log in to the Subotiz Admin, then go to Subscriptions > Subscriptions to view all active and historical subscription contracts.
-
Filter Fixed Price subscriptions: Under Pricing Type, select Fixed Price to quickly locate supported subscription contracts. Only Fixed Price subscriptions support editing the fixed term.
- Open the subscription contract: Locate the subscription contract to edit and open the Subscription Contract Details page.
- Open Edit Fixed Term: In the upper-right corner of the details page, click Actions > Edit Fixed Term.
Setting the Fixed Term
- Enable the fixed term: Turn on Enable Fixed Term.
- Set the fixed term: Enter the fixed term. The subscription ends automatically when the configured fixed term is reached.
Setting Up Convert to Ongoing Subscription
-
Enable Convert to Ongoing Subscription (Optional): To allow customers to continue their subscription after the fixed term expires, turn on Convert to Ongoing Subscription.Once enabled, the system sends the Fixed term ending email before the fixed term expires. The email includes a Convert to Ongoing Subscription button, allowing customers to convert their current fixed-term subscription to an ongoing subscription without creating a new subscription.
Note:
Convert to Ongoing Subscription works only when the Fixed term ending email is enabled. Go to Settings > Transactional Emails and enable Fixed term ending. The reminder email is sent automatically 3 days before the fixed term expires. If the Fixed term ending email is not enabled, customers will not receive an email containing the Convert to Ongoing Subscription button, even if the option is enabled. For more information about configuring transactional emails, see Transactional emails|Viewing and Managing Transactional Emails.
- Save changes: After confirming the fixed term and related settings, click Confirm to save the changes.
Important Notes
- Editing the fixed term does not change the current subscription product, pricing plan, or billing cycle.
- Editing the fixed term does not affect existing billing records.
- Actual results are subject to what is displayed in the Subotiz Admin and the system processing outcome.
Editing the fixed term allows merchants to manage fixed-term subscriptions and configure how subscriptions are managed after the fixed term expires, including converting them to ongoing subscriptions.
