The Subotiz Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the businesses, products, services, and content that are permitted or prohibited when using Subotiz Checkout, Billing, and Payment Services.
The policy helps promote secure transactions, reduce compliance risk, and maintain the security, stability, and long-term reliability of the Subotiz payment ecosystem.
Scope of the AUP
Subotiz provides payment and billing solutions for virtual goods and digitally delivered services, including, but not limited to, digital content, digital entitlements, digital services, and SaaS subscriptions.
Subotiz does not host merchant storefronts, operate an online marketplace, or participate in the production, fulfillment, or delivery of goods or services.
The AUP applies to all goods, services, content, and business activities processed through Subotiz, including:
- Goods and services processed using Subotiz.
- Information displayed on checkout pages, including product descriptions, images, text, links, and other content.
- Marketing activities, including emails, notifications, and other customer communications.
Sanctions Compliance
Subotiz complies with applicable international sanctions, export control laws, and trade restrictions.
Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their business, customers, and transactions do not involve sanctioned countries, regions, individuals, or entities, or otherwise violate applicable sanctions or export control requirements.
If your business serves international customers or operates across multiple jurisdictions, Subotiz may restrict, suspend, or decline certain transactions to comply with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, or payment partner obligations.

Business Scope and Compliance Responsibilities
By creating a Subotiz account and using Subotiz, you confirm that the goods and services you offer:
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where you operate and sell
- Comply with the requirements of applicable payment networks and payment partners
- Do not fall within any prohibited or restricted business categories described in this AUP

Providing a brief description of your business together with links to your product or service pages allows us to evaluate your business more efficiently and helps streamline the review and onboarding process.
Prohibited and Restricted Business Categories
The following categories provide an overview of the most common prohibited and restricted businesses, products, services, and content under the Subotiz Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). They are intended to help merchants better understand the policy. The official AUP and Subotiz's final review decision shall prevail.
- Physical Products: Subotiz supports businesses that sell virtual goods and digitally delivered services. Businesses involving physical products or requiring shipping, logistics, or offline fulfillment are generally not supported by Subotiz.
- Child Exploitation: Goods, services, or content that exploit, abuse, or sexually depict children are strictly prohibited. This restriction also applies to AI-generated, computer-generated, or other synthetic content.
- Harassment, Bullying, Defamation, and Threats: You may not offer goods or services, or publish content that harass, bully, defame, threaten, or target specific individuals with abusive or harmful content.
- Hateful Content: Content that promotes or supports hatred, discrimination, or violence based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, medical condition, or veteran status is prohibited. Content that supports organizations or individuals promoting hate or violence is also prohibited.
- Illegal Activities: Goods, services, or content must comply with applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where you operate. Businesses involving illegal activities, unauthorized software licensing, illegal streaming services, DRM circumvention tools, spyware, phishing tools, or other unlawful products or services are not permitted. Goods, services, and content must also comply with the requirements of applicable payment networks and payment partners.
- Intellectual Property: You may not offer, distribute, or publish goods, services, or content that infringe copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents, or other intellectual property rights. Merchants are responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and authorizations before offering protected content through Subotiz.
- Malicious and Deceptive Practices: Subotiz may not be used to distribute malware, host phishing pages, or engage in fraudulent or deceptive commercial activities. Activities that damage, disrupt, or interfere with Subotiz, its users, payment partners, or third-party infrastructure are strictly prohibited.
- Personal, Confidential, and Protected Health Information: Merchants may not collect, process, store, or publish sensitive personal information, confidential information, or protected health information without appropriate authorization or a valid legal basis. Examples include credit card numbers, government-issued ID numbers, account passwords, and protected health information.
- Prohibited and Restricted Items: Certain products, services, or content may be prohibited by law or require government licenses, permits, or regulatory approval before they can be offered or sold. Merchants are responsible for ensuring their business complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Safety, Security, and Well-being: Goods, services, or content that promote self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, animal abuse, dangerous activities, violent challenges, or other harmful behavior are prohibited. Content that encourages or provides instructions for harming yourself or others is also not permitted.
- Adult and Sexually Explicit Content: Subotiz does not support businesses involving pornographic, sexually explicit, or obscene products, services, or content. This restriction also applies to adult entertainment businesses, escort or companionship services, dating or matchmaking services, excessively explicit language, and AI-generated or synthetic sexual content.
- Spam: Merchants may not use Subotiz to send unsolicited commercial messages or engage in spam-related activities. Businesses that facilitate, promote, or distribute spam through any channel are also prohibited.
- Hacking, Viruses, and Network Attacks: Subotiz may not be used to access computer systems or networks without authorization, distribute malware or viruses, launch denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, or interfere with the operation of Subotiz, its users, or third-party systems. Attempts to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or systems are also prohibited.
- Terrorist Organizations: Goods, services, or content that support, promote, finance, or imply affiliation with terrorist organizations are strictly prohibited.
- Gambling: Subotiz may not be used to process payments for gambling-related businesses or activities. This includes betting, lotteries, sweepstakes, fantasy sports, prize-based games, sports prediction or odds services, and any other business that requires a gambling or betting license under applicable law.
- Sanctions and Export Controls: Merchants must comply with all applicable economic sanctions, export control laws, trade restrictions, and embargoes. Subotiz may not be used to process transactions involving sanctioned countries, regions, individuals, entities, or any activity prohibited by applicable sanctions or export control regulations.
- Political Sensitive Products and Services: Subotiz does not support businesses involving politically sensitive products, services, or content. This includes politically sensitive publications, audio or video content, organizations, individuals, government-restricted materials, state secrets, or unauthorized government-related services.
- Regulated Financial Activities: Subotiz may not be used to process payments for regulated financial activities, unless all required licenses, registrations, and regulatory approvals have been obtained where applicable. Examples include pyramid schemes, financial fraud, precious metals trading, charitable fundraising, ATM or cash processing services, securities, investments, futures, options, guarantees, and other regulated financial services.
- Integrity and Authenticity: Merchants must not provide false or misleading information that could cause significant harm to individuals or society. Where required, AI-generated or edited content that depicts realistic people or scenes must be clearly disclosed. Subotiz may not be used to create or distribute deceptive AI-generated or synthetic media, including content that impersonates individuals, misrepresents public figures or events, facilitates fraud, or artificially manipulates engagement.

Violation Handling
If Subotiz identifies content, products, services, or transactions that may violate this AUP, we may take appropriate action to reduce risk and comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and payment partner requirements. The actions taken depend on the nature and severity of the identified risk.
Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, Subotiz may:
- Remove or restrict content displayed on checkout pages
- Suspend or terminate your account or restrict your access to Subotiz.
- Request additional business information or supporting documents to complete further review
Subotiz reserves the right to determine whether a violation has occurred and to take appropriate action at its sole discretion.
Policy Updates
The Acceptable Use Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in applicable laws, regulatory requirements, payment partner rules, or business practices.
By continuing to use Subotiz after an updated version of the AUP becomes effective, you agree to comply with the latest version of the policy.
If there is any conflict between this AUP and other Subotiz service terms, this AUP will prevail to the extent necessary to resolve the conflict.
