The Customer Portal provides a structured interface where customers can view and manage their subscriptions, payment methods, invoices, and billing records. You can configure the available modules and adjust the visual presentation directly in your Subotiz admin so the experience aligns with your brand.
Accessing Customer Portal Settings
Access Customer Portal settings in your Subotiz admin to configure modules and UI.
- Open Portal settings: Go to Settings > Customization > Portal.
- Component: Select the features and information displayed to customers.
- UI: Adjust branding elements, colors, and interface styling.


Component Settings
- Customer Portal link: Subotiz automatically generates a secure login link for your customers. Share this link in your app, website navigation, or transactional emails for seamless access.

- Merchant information: This section controls the brand elements shown at the top of the Customer Portal.
- Logo: Upload a square logo (recommended 120×120px).
- Portal title: Provide a concise description of the page’s purpose.
- Portal description: Add a short message to guide customers.
- Return link: Create a button that sends customers back to your website or app.
- Effect in the Portal: These items appear in the header and define the overall brand experience.

- Customer information: Choose which customer fields appear in the Profile section of the Portal.
- Name
- Email
- Billing address
- Marketing email subscription status
- Effect in the Portal: Customers can view or update these fields directly in their profile.


- Payment methods: Enable payment-method management for customers.
- Add new payment methods (3DS required for cards).


- Remove cards or PayPal accounts, or set a default payment method.

- Effect in the Portal: A dedicated Payment methods tab appears with full card and PayPal management.
- Subscriptions: The Subscriptions module includes both subscription visibility and subscription control settings, allowing you to define what customers can see and what actions they can perform in the Customer Portal.
- Subscription visibility:
- View all subscriptions, including trial, active, and cancelled.

- Open subscription details to check status, next billing date, and next billing amount.

- Update the payment method used for future billing.


- Effect in the Portal: The Subscriptions tab displays all subscription records and related details.
- Subscription controls: Configure which subscription actions customers can perform directly from the Portal. All controls are managed through independent toggles.
- Available actions: Turn on the following options based on your business needs.
- Supported actions:
- Pause / resume subscription
- Cancel subscription
- Change subscription (upgrade, downgrade, or billing cycle switch)
- Display discounts
- Show cancelled subscriptions
- Effect in the Portal: These settings define which actions are available in the subscription action menu.

- Cancellation rules: Set how subscription cancellations are processed.
- Options:
- Cancel immediately
- Cancel at current period end
- Refund options (for immediate cancellation):
- No refund
- Refund the latest invoice amount
- Prorated refund based on unused time
- Effect in the Portal: The system automatically applies the configured cancellation and refund rules.


- Subscription change rules: Define how subscription updates are applied.
- Effective timing:
- Effective immediately
- Effective at current period end
- Billing handling:
- Charge prorated amount immediately
- Do not charge prorated amount
- Allowed pricing plans: Choose which pricing plans customers can switch to.
- Notes:
- Multiple plans can be selected.
- Only selected plans are available to customers.
- Unselected plans will not appear.
- Effect in the Portal: Customers can only switch to the configured pricing plans when selecting Change subscription.


- Billing history: Enable billing history to give customers access to their past charges and invoices.
- View all billing records.

- Check payment amounts and statuses.

- Generate and download invoices.


- Retry failed payments directly from the billing record.
- Effect in the Portal: The Billing history tab displays each charge with invoice actions.
UI Customization
Customize UI settings to align the Customer Portal design with your brand.
- Customize UI: Go to Settings > Customization > Portal > UI.

Note: Changes update instantly in the preview panel.
- Available options:
- Sidebar background color

- Content background color

- Accent color

- Font style
These settings help you adjust the Portal’s visual style to match your brand.
By configuring modules and customizing the UI, you can control what customers see and how they interact with the Portal. This ensures a consistent brand experience while giving customers clear access to subscription and billing management.
